7-Day Peloponnese Land Rover Safari


Join us for an unforgettable week of a Land Rover Safari - Archaeology tour in the southern part of Greece -- the Peloponnese. An area full of history and legends from the Greece of antiquity, yet off the well-trodden path of mass tourism.

Peloponnese is an extensive, varied and rich in history region.
We will drive you with our Land Rovers trough authentic, lost in time villages, unique forests, flowing rivers and stay in very well preserved stone guesthouses.
Explore some of the most beautiful parts of the northern part of Peloponesse and at the same time visit two of the most important monuments of Ancient Greek civilisation; the graves of Mycenae and the place where the Olympic Games took place for the first time in history, Ancient Olympia.
Experience the excitement of driving in a number of different terrains, through amazing forests and over rivers and creeks.

The Program

Day 1 - Arrival
Arrival from country of origin, Tranfer from the airport to the central Hotel in Athens, short briefing and free afternoon to visit Plaka for romantic dinner under Acropolis and overnight.

Day 2 - Ancient Olympia
Our Land Rover Safari to Peloponnese begins early in the morning from Athens. Vehicle pick up, briefing on equipment and morning departure for Ancient Olympia. Visit archaeological site and museum. Afternoon free. Dinner at hotel.

Day 3 - Foloi Forest
Leave hotel at 10.00 heading towards Foloi forest. The forest covers and area of 21.000 acres and it is famous for the long trunk oak trees. According to the Greek Mythology it was the residence of the Centaurs. Break for light snack and coffee before we face the challenging route of driving upstream a river, encountering a difficult exit from the river bed. Alternative route is available in case level of water or weather conditions dictate so. Coffee break at the picterisque village of Foloi before we return to Olympia. Dinner at hotel.

Day 4 -  Ladonas River -Rafting - Kalavryta
Depart at 09.00, heading for the lake of Ladonas via asphalt road stopping by for coffee at the square of the village of Tropaia. A number of dirt roads will take us to Ladonas river in our Outdoor Activities Base for Rafting. Those who wish not to do rafting, can cycle along the river banks, with mountain bikes next to the river or have a nice walk. Experience the thrill of "flying", by practicing flying box over the crystal waters of the river Ladon and test your aiming skills by practicing archery. Light snack and coffee before we leave for Kalavryta where we will night stop in a traditional guesthouse near the ski resort. Dinner at guesthouse.

Day 5 -  Lake Tsiblou - Lake Dasiou - Krathis River - Ziria Mountain
Morning departure for lake Tsivlou through fir tree forests. Driving along and across the river bed of Krathis river we will reach the village of Zarouchla, heading for Dasios lake to stop for a light snack and coffee by its shore. We continue up Ziria mountain through a number of dirt roads to reach the village of Trikala Korinthias. Night stop and dinner in a traditional hotel.

-Day trip duration: ~ 3 hours | 20% on-road, 80% off-road | Total distance covered: ~70 km

Day 6 -  Ancient Mycenae - Athens
Early morning departure for ancient Mycenae for a guided tour of the archaeological site. Light snack before we return to Athens. Free Afternoon in Athens and overnight in a central Hotel.

Day 7 - Athens Free Day
Free day for sightseeing around Athens. See the treasures of the ancient Athens and Acropolis or take a day cruise to the fabulous Greek islands of Hydra, Poros and Egina for a relaxing day on the sea. Overnight in a central Hotel in Athens.


Day 8 - Departure
Transfer from your central  Hotel in Athens to the airport and departure.
